Library Procedures
Classes visit the library every other week with their teacher. At each visit students listen to a story, check out a book, read or work quietly on a library activity. Students are assisted in finding a "Just Right" book for their grade and reading level that interests them.
Finding the "Just Right" book
Before you check out a book:
•Stop!- Use 5 finger rule
•Read a page in the middle of the book.
•Hold up 1 finger for each word you don't know.
•0 fingers –too easy
•1-3 fingers – just right
•4-5 fingers – go slow-quite hard
•5+ too hard for now
